A 2025/26 campaign, the team is heading into the year ahead determined to rebuild,
refocus and grow stronger together. Last season was a difficult one, with the Ladies
regularly struggling to field a consistent squad from week to week.

Injuries, availability and changing team selections made it difficult to build the understanding and structure needed on the pitch, and the team will begin the 2026/27 season in Division 7. But rather than being discouraged, the Ladies are looking at this as an opportunity.

Back to Basics, Forward Together

The previous season taught the team plenty of valuable lessons, and pre-season has provided an opportunity to return to the fundamentals, working on fitness, passing, positioning,
communication and, most importantly, teamwork. There is also an exciting new chapter beginning as some of our younger girls progress from the Inter section into senior hockey. This gives the Ladies an opportunity to build a new-look squad combining experienced players with the next generation coming through the club.

For those younger players, the senior team should be a place where they can continue learning, develop their confidence and feel supported as they make the step into adult hockey.

Building a Team Takes a Team

Numbers at pre-season training have not yet been as strong as we had hoped, and one of the
biggest goals for the Ladies this season will be building greater consistency both at training and on match days. Hockey is ultimately a team sport. Individual ability can create brilliant moments, but successful teams are built through repetition, training together, learning each other's movement, practicing set plays and developing the understanding that eventually becomes instinctive during a match.  That simply takes time together on the pitch.

The Men's section has demonstrated the difference that consistent numbers, commitment and training together can make, and we would love to build that same culture within the Ladies section. A match-day squad isn't about one player, it takes an entire team working for one another. Every training session attended, every run made and every teammate supported contributes towards building the team we want to become.

We train together. We learn together. We improve together.
